Which skills should students acquire to prepare for work place competency? There are skills needed which cover all areas of employment as well as those related to a specific job at the work place. Technical education instructors in high school need to work together with those in postsecondary education to develop an agreed upon set of necessary skills. These skills need to be developed indepth sequentially. Additions, modifications, and deletions may be made as needed. Upgrading knowledge and skills must be ongoing. Positive student attitudes should be an end result. Quality attitudes do affect the development of knowledge and skills ends of instruction. Meaningful objectives in technical education
